Using Wood
Wood is cheap and forgiving. If you make mistakes you can just cut the
wood into another shape.
- Use small nails ( brads ) and PVA glue to fix your wood. Use no
more than 3 brads for each wood piece when gluing to another piece.
- Use a correctly sized drill pieced and a screw to fix the wood if you
wish to remove the wooden section later
- Use a square, rule and pencil to mark your wood
- Use a wood clamp when you saw your wood by hand
- Give the marked wood to the teacher if you have a lot of wood to cut.
The teacher may use the table, rotary or band saw on your behalf.
- We only use softwood, ply and veneer woods in this subject.
