In this activity we will investigate the relationship between side lengths of a
right angle triangle.
- Load this Geogebra file
You should see a triangle. You are going to
make a right angle triangle.
|
 |
- Now move the blue point P to the
Right Angle Point
You should see the a and b lengths change
- Use this spreadsheet to record the a, b and hypotenuse values.
- Now reshape your right angle triangle. Make sure that your
triangle has a 900 angle. You must use the right
angle point to keep this shape.

Questions |
-
What is the rule for the side of right angle triangles?
- What is length of the hypotenuse if the a is length 3 and b is
length 4?
- Can you use your spreadsheet to check the rule you used in
question 1. above?
