Barn Bluff

Often shrouded in fog and rain, the overland walkers often ignore it.  The climb to the to is worth the extra few hours from Waterfall Valley.  If you rise early and walk late, you may attempt the summit as a "day trip" from the Park entrance.

On a clear day you will see both Cradle and Barn Bluff from the Overland track. Yet many pass in fog and do not ascend either Set out early on the day trip and the morning fog hangs in the Fury river gorge in April the Nothofagus adds a colourful touch to the track
it takes some hours to reach this point and still you must climb on the Summit of the Barn, the whole Overland track route is visible the descent of The Barn Bluff must taken cautiously ..
when returning Mt Emmett lies in stony silence in the afternoon sun in the distance we see Cradle Mountain we share our Cushion plants with New Zealand. Once this area was connected in Gondwanaland
