The Golden Warrandyte State Park

On the banks of the muddy Yarra river, the Warrandyte State park was once the scene of feverish gold mining.  Now the only gold you will find is the dusty bloom of the Acacias

the waxy leaves of Eucalyptus polyanthemos, "Red Box" and its buds the succulent leaves of Acacia pycnantha hold a small caterpillar bright orange fungus rots the tree stick litter on the ground
