Approaching Mt Howitt from the West

To the east of the ski resort of Mt Buller, you will climb long spurs and cross deep river valleys.  The destination is the remarkable scenery of the Terrible Hollow and Mt Howitt.  On this trip, we approach the mountain using Stanley Name spur.

We approach Mt Howitt on the first day from Stanley Name Spur as we approach Mt Howitt, we look back down Stanley Name spur at last we can see the Terrible Hollow and the Crosscut Saw from Macalister Springs
after the climb to Mt Howitt, you can sit and enjoy the dramatic view of the Terrible Hollow then you return to the Howqua river via Helicopter spur ancient Snow Gums grow on the Mt Koonika ridge
the Howqua river is reached Dianella tasmanica berries festoon the track on the return to Stanley Name Spur when you return via Stanley Name Spur you will see Hell's Window in a different light
