Cross Country Skiing

in Victoria, we have a  small area of alpine plain which lies under snow in August.  Skiing is the best way to travel in the mountains in winter.  You can also ski on  Mt Buffalo after heavy snow falls.

at last the snow arrives in a dry year Mt. Feathertop is the Magnificent mountain of the Victorian snowfields by the next weekend the snow had fallen over the high plains
as the dark clouds gather with more snow the wind always blows hard around Mt Loch approaching Johnstons hut you may see Mt Wills covered in snow
when it snows .. it is hard to find your way over Heathy spur when the snow is deep and the sun is out .. the trail to Dinner Plain is great fun in the distance we can see the Dargo High Plains from the Dinner Plain trail
