Moroka River Gorge

Five hours from Melbourne, the Moroka river flows north from the slopes of Mt Wellington, before it joins the south flowing Wonangatta and Mitchell river systems.  Over thousands of years, it has worn a deep gorge in the sedimentary rock.

From Mt Beth on the McMillan track, the Moroka river passes to the left of Snowy Bluff sometimes a raging flood will prevent walkers from returning here the cool evening light reflects the trees on the banks of the Moroka river
the morning sunrise over the Moroka river at last we reach the summit of Snowy Bluff, but cloud descends even in early Autumn, you can find the bright pink flowers of the Crowea
brilliant yellow daisies are always found on the high snow gum peak of the Bluff overlooking the gorge, we can see the river forcing its way north a series of waterfalls splash their way down the Moroka Gorge
