Mt. Reynard and the Caledonia River

On the road to Mt. Howitt you will pass the grassy plains near Mt. Reynard. Walk to the west over the late summer daisy fields and you will soon descend the Long Spur to the Caledonia river.  On the next day you will ascend the spurs of Dingo Hill and Scrubby Hill.

We cross the flower filled plains of Mt Reynard On the Long Spur we can see the deep gorges of the Caledonia River blue daisies and blue Wahlenbergias were flowering in profusion in the early Autumn
we must cross the Caledonia river 8 times this gorge was the water point for a peaceful camp site we pass to let the snake pass ... but it remained motionless for 5 minutes waiting for us
the map showed more falls below the next bend ... but we paused here These Wahlenbergias grew in profusion amongst the litter of a fire damaged forest the trip is over ... we return via the flower fields of Holme's Plains

These pictures were taken on the long weekend, March,  2002
