Mt Wellington to Gable End

Walkers must share the four wheel drive track to Mt Wellington.  When you reach Gable End, however, the trail disappears and the bush walking begins.

Burnt in the early 90's the mountains are blooming in wild flowers most of the Mountain side was burnt to the rocky base but the flowers and herbs are now covering the burnt ground
and the fungi grow on the rotting vegetation you must walk down the Gable End to see it and the cattle track has long ago disappeared
on the northern side of the Wellington plateau you may see Tali Karng from the Sentinels and to the south lies Ben Cruachan and the Hump and we return to our cars via Spion Kopje
