Skiing at Perisher

Just over the border from Victoria, on the Alpine Way, the Perisher resort offers access to Australia's main range.  For  a few months Australia may seem like a snowy wilderness.

in the distance is the vast snow country of the Main Rainge off we go .. but remember we have to climb the hill again! as spring approaches the snow softens and melts
sometimes you must ski uphill the snow gum trunks change colour in spring and autumn Porcupine rocks are a favorite destination for cross country skiiers at Perisher
beyond Porcupine rocks we can see the dry country of the eastern rainshadow A snow gum holds its roots tight in the wind blown rock Australia has a vast untracked snow field
