Lilydale to Warburton

Once a train line through the rural outskirts of Melbourne to the forests of the hills, this railway line is now a cycle trail used by hundreds of suburban riders on a half or whole day ride.

The train will not arrive at this station tall forest trees would have filled the whole of the yarra valley .. they remain beside the rail trail the fungus and grasses are gradually returning the edge of the trail to its natural state
look closely at the fungus you see .. the fine detail is fascinating this rail cutting has the original wooden road bridge the Autumn colour of the vines
ok .. let's get going this trail crosses a number of creeks now suburban houses intrude into the pasture of the cows
