Walls of Jerusalem to Pelion Hut

If you set aside a few days of your vacation, you can take a slight variation of Australia's famous overland walk.  Start in The Walls of Jerusalem National park and set off for the Overland track.  This is what you will see in Autumn

The Walls of Jerusalem park is dotted with tiny lakes, but too cold to swim large areas of King Billy pine have been burnt, but the remaining trees are magnificent forming hard grassy mats, the tiny plants form hard cushions of bright green in the swampy meadows
tangled shrubs line the lakes as you walk towards the overland track a deep fall empties the Junction lake as you approach the Never Never bright orange seed pods hint at the colours you will see on the Overland track
the rain and the warm air help the fungi grow on the edge of the track the Hartnett falls form a deep gorge at the end of the trackless Never Never at last you reach the first hut and campsite on the Overland track
